2. Who this course is for

The aims and objectives of the Business A Level is to enable students to:

Develop an enthusiasm for studying business
Gain a holistic understanding of business in a range of contexts
Develop a critical understanding of organisations and their ability to meet society's needs and wants
Understand that business behaviour can be studied from a range of perspectives
Generate enterprising and creative approaches to business opportunities, problems and issues
Be aware of the ethical dilemmas and responsibilities faced by organisations and individuals
Acquire a range of relevant business and generic skills, including decision making, problem solving, the challenging of assumptions and critical analysis
Apply numerical skills in a range of business contexts

3. Entry requirements

English Language Grade 5 - Mathematics Grade 5. There is no requirement to having a Business GCSE. In fact whilst it will take a little longer to become familiar with the course students that have not done Business before by the end of the course are equally as successful as those that have.

Many of our Bishop Ramsey students choose to continue their study of Business at university. Business is a specialist subject in its own right that is offered by many universities. It may also be studied as a component of other degree courses including Finance, Administration and Engineering.

Business students are highly valued by employers for their rigorous understanding of the function and management of firms, their decision making skills and their ability to evaluate alternatives.
