Who this course is for

Higher National Certificates are specialist programmes linked to professional body requirements and national occupational standards where appropriate, with a strong work-related emphasis. This qualification builds a strong foundation in the key concepts and practical skills required by employers in the civil engineering/ construction sector. Students will gain both a practical and theoretical understanding of the scientific, mathematical and design principles that will help them progress to professional and management roles in the industry. The following modules will be studied throughout the course: Core modules: > Analytical Methods > Civil Engineering Construction (A) > Geology and Soils > Personal Skills 1 (Communication and Research) > Safety in Construction > Science and Materials > Structural Analysis and Design.
