This course is designed to further extend the knowledge and ability of students wishing to continue their study in vehicle paint principles. The course is taught in our well equipped workshops and classrooms, it will involve completion of theoretical study using classroom delivery, assignments, phase tests and on-line multi-choice exams. The practical sessions require you to satisfy practical assessment criteria using pre-set tasks with the results recorded in a practical task workbook. This course will continue to develop the skills obtained at Level 2. At least a third of the course is spent in the workshop developing your skills in the manufacture, repair and refinishing of motor vehicle bodies and components. The course is normally delivered over three days a week. Students also gain a broad knowledge and understanding of health and safety in the workplace and other skills associated with working in a garage. What will I study? This Level 3 qualification covers both theory and practical aspects, including: Core Units: •The preparation and application procedures •The diagnosis and rectifying of paint faults •Working with plastic materials and components •Preparing metal and pre-painted surfaces •Establishing paint defects •Applying topcoats and completing refinishing •Colour matching

Level 2 Diploma in Vehicle Accident Repair - Paint Principles and GCSEs at Grade 3/D in English Language and Maths or Level 1 Functional Skills English and Maths If you are aged 19 or over and are an experienced, employed vehicle technician we will discuss your study options with you during your interview.

At your interview you will be provided with a preferred kit list that will assist you during your course. This kit will always belong to you is fully transferable to take with you in to employment.
