Business and Administration Certificate

This course provides valuable opportunities for individuals to develop skills and gain underpinning knowledge and understanding in business and administration, which will support entry into the business and administration workplace. It is suitable for working across a wide variety of sectors including NHS trusts, educational institutions, government departments, charities and the private sector.

The Isle of Wight College has standard entry requirements for full-time college courses, depending on the level of the course to be studied.

The course is designed for students who wish to develop a good knowledge of Business and administration skills; in addition students will learn the fundamentals of business administration so that they are able to apply their knowledge when running a company.

The course is delivered by knowledgable staff, who possess industry and business administration experience along with specialist qualifications. Teaching sessions incorporate a mixture of activities and on-line learning to ensure students develop skills and knowledge.

Students are assessed via methods as listed above and participation in a cross-department project. This helps students to develop core skills required for business which include the ability to meet deadlines and retention of knowledge as well as application of skills.

The qualification is designed for entry and progression within employment, or an apprenticeship. In addition to this, successful completion of the Gateway Diploma in Business and Administration can lead to entry to the NCFE Business Enterprise.
