History is a facilitating subject and well regarded by the Russell Group universities and Oxford/Cambridge. Students who have previously taken this course have ventured into a variety of careers from journalism, business, management, accountancy, the Civil Service and publishing.

At least 5 GCSEs graded 9-5, including English and a grade 5 in GCSE History or related subject preferred.
The History course will still have a breadth study and a depth study. We will be offering the following units: The breadth study will be The Tudors: England 1485-1603 The depth study will be America: A Nation Divided, 1845-1877 A compulsory coursework element.
Regular assessment will take the form of source-based questions and essay writing, with regular practice of these skills under exam conditions.
History is a respected degree subject in Higher Education and can open the door to a variety of careers, including archaeology, museum curator, journalism and the Civil Service.
