This course is open to students who have achieved 5 or more grades at grade 4 or above at GCSE including English or Maths. In addition, students starting this course should also have achieved at least a grade 5 in GCSE Food Science, or Level 2 Diploma in Food Science & Nutrition Merit.

The nature of the course:The Level 3 Diploma has been designed to provide you with underpinning knowledge, understanding and skills to progress to further study and training in a food related degree or career. An understanding of food science and nutrition is relevant to many industries and job roles. Hotels and restaurants, food manufacturers and government agencies also use this understanding to develop menus, food products and policies that support healthy eating initiatives.
