No prior knowledge is needed, although attention to detail and careful thoughtful approach is useful. You can also attend and enjoy the class if you have previously attended framing workshops. It is useful to have a basic level of numeracy, because you will be measuring and doing calculations. It is not essential as this is a practical class and the tutor is on hand to help.

This is tutored picture framing workshop. The aim of the workshop is to introduce you to picture framing. The class is aimed at those with no previous experience, if you have framed before you can broaden your range of experience by working on projects of your own choosing, working at your own pace with guidance and tuition from the tutor. There is a focus on the techniques used in planning and cutting the components to complete the framed piece to a professional standard. Each session has a combination of theory and practice, combined with demonstrations and practical work.This is an introductory tutored workshop that introduces you to picture framing with a focus on planning, and cutting mounts to enhance your artwork. You are introduced to the key elements of a framed picture and learn the steps to creating a number of different mount designs and decorations.
