This is a highly rewarding creative subject to study, designed for you if you are interested in a career within the Performing Arts. The course introduces you to the processes, concepts and ideas associated with design and the running of a wardrobe department.You will work with different materials as you assist in costume, mask and puppetry making with in the department. This is a 2 year course at Level 3 to achieve the full diploma, although you can leave after the first year with a qualification.

You will need 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English Language and maths.It is important that you have a genuine interest in the performing arts and can demonstrate a passion for the subject at interview.No previous experience is necessary but basic sewing skills would be beneficial.
You will document your learning throughout the year through a combination of an active blog, paper based evidence and practical demonstration and creation.You will be given assignments to complete which will involve a mixture of research projects, portfolios, show paperwork and practical work.
Studying this course will give you the basic skills as you further your career in both film, TV and theatre. You can also use these skills to follow other careers within fashion and other areas of technical theatre.
