Entry requirements
It is advisable to be employed as a learning support assistant within a school environment. There are no formal entry qualifications for this course however you will need an appropriate level of English (GCSE grade 4/C or equivalent).
How you'll be assessed
You will be required to complete one assignment for each unit, you will also need to show competence within the work place relating to stated criteria. All units are internally assessed; the minimum grade to achieve the Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools is a pass. A variety of teaching and assessment methods will help you complete the units. You will be encouraged to share good practice with other support staff in group discussions.
What you can do next
Upon completion of this course you are able to progress to a Higher Level Teaching Assistant(HLTA) qualification.
