A minimum of 5 GCSE subjects graded 9-2 or equivalent. Level 1 Diploma in Practical Horticulture
Aimed to provide an exciting insight into this rewarding industry, students will study basic skills, health and safety and personal and social development. The horticulture skills will include tool maintenance, propagation, plant identification and garden maintenance.
Continuous practical and written assessment.
Successful completion could lead to a Level 2 in Land based studies Horticulture. Career Prospects include Head Gardener with salary earnings of up to 27-36k, Landscape Designer, Horticulture Manager, Groundwork Maintenance and Plant Production. Over 2,000 landscape gardeners are currently employed in the region.
