2. Course description

Biology is made of a diverse range of subjects - from molecular biology to the study of the biosphere. At A Level, you will develop a deep understanding of living processes and systems. You'll find the more you know about the living world, the more fascinating it becomes. You'll be challenged to understand complex life processes and apply your knowledge to other situations. There is an emphasis on practical skills and synoptic essay writing, as such, Biology is a qualification that is highly sought after by universities.

3. Entry requirements

A minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade 6 with at least grade 4 in English and Mathematics. Plus EITHER at least grade 6 or above in both GCSE Science and Additional Science (higher tier) OR at least grade 6s in both GCSE Biology and Chemistry (higher tier). Maths is also required at GCSE grade 5 or above.
