2. Course description

If you want a career in the motor body repair industry, these courses are for you. You will study: . Level 1 Diploma in Accident Body Repair, . Vehicle construction and design, . Removing and replacing body panels, . Remove and replace MET (Mechanical Electrical and Trim components), . Valet - both the interior and exterior of the vehicle, . Introduction to technology, workshop processes and welding, . Level 2 Diploma in Accident repair Body Principles, . Welding processes MIG, resistance/spot, brazing and plastic repairs, . Repair techniques for damaged body panels, . Heat shrinking, . Modern construction and materials used in vehicle design. Coursework consists of theory and practical assessments of all the subjects. Please note: you will develop body repair skills you are encouraged to attend a work placement to develop your skills and knowledge of the body repair industry

3. Entry requirements

Level 1 A minimum of three GCSEs at grade A*. D, including English language maths and science or technology. An entry level 3 qualification, and Entry level 3 English and maths. A multi.choice mechanical aptitude test, and A course guidance interview. Level 2 A level 1 Motor Vehicle Body and Paint Refinishing at pass or merit grade, and English and maths at level 1. A multi.choice mechanical aptitude test, and A course guidance interview.

5. Assessment method

Practical tasks and knowledge tests, assignments and a portfolio of evidence. Certification depends on successfully completing practical tasks and theory tests in the various modules. Work experience will advance your skills and understanding of the repair industry.
