2. Course description

The course acts as an introduction to key debates surrounding media's place within democracy. It will focus particularly on the British model of public service broadcasting and key debates surrounding Television News, including the concept of due impartiality, and news as media product. A key area for consideration with regards to democratic principles will be the emergence of 'Fake News'. Come along and enjoy a relaxed morning practising your skills in media analysis.
