2. Course description

On completion of this apprenticeship the individual will be a competent and job-ready Healthcare Support Worker. The apprenticeship standard provides a high level description of the skills, knowledge, values and behaviours required of the Healthcare Support Worker apprentice (Level 2). This course allows you to choose optional units which are suitable to your work area.

3. Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements except a College interview, and you must be at least 16 years of age. However, since this qualification is assessed in the workplace, you need a job or work placement which offers you suitable experience and the chance to demonstrate the necessary skills. Basic computer skills is desirable

5. Assessment method

You will be allocated an Assessor who will work with you to compile an electronic portfolio of evidence of your competence and knowledge. You will be required to compile a portfolio of evidence of your competence and knowledge, which your Assessor will help you to prepare. You will need to work towards an end point assessment, which includes the following components: 1. A multiple choice and short answer test 2. An observation of practice undertaken in the workplace 3. A reflective piece of work about your learning experience.
