2. Course description
This is the final level of the full AAT qualification. This course is ideal for you if you are working or want to work in accountancy or finance or have studied L3 AAT or its equivalent. Some students choose to continue studying and gain exemptions from Accountancy bodies to include ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants), CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants), CIPFA (Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy), ICAEW (Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales). The course consists of the following units: - Financial Statements - Budgeting - Decision and control - Accounting Systems and control Plus 2 units from these 5 optional units, please note running each option unit is subject to minimum numbers: - Credit Management and Control - Personal Tax - Business Tax - External Auditing - Cash Management
3. Entry requirements
You will have completed Level 3 of AAT, and have shown excellent attendance, punctuality and achievement. You will also need a reference from your Level 3 tutor confirming your suitability for Level 4. You need to have achieved GCSE English and Maths Grade C/4 or above if you are 16-18 years old. If you are above 18 years old and do not have GCSE's you can sit a diagnostic test to assess your literacy and numeracy. This will let us see if you will be able to meet the course entry requirements. You will be offered the opportunity to study GCSE English and Maths, or Functional skills English and Maths, alongside your AAT programme if you want to do so. 4. Equipment required
The course runs from September to June for the core units. Optional units are then usually completed September to November in the following academic year. Please note it may be possible for some students to complete in one year by completing options alongside core units. Please discuss this aspect with a tutor prior to enrolment. A minimum of 90% attendance is required on course. If you have a Learning Difficulty or Disability please let us know when you apply. You will be offered support in your interview.
