This modern upholstery course forms part of our soft furnishings offering at Chichester College's upholstery department. We will introduce you to the necessary technical skills required by those interested in the modern upholstery sector and provide you with the knowledge and skills to prepare and produce items of modern upholstery. You will prepare a frame and apply webbing and foams to form the shape. You will also position and secure upholstery covers, develop your hand-cutting skills and learn how to position and secure trimmings. We run the course on a full time and part time basis. Applications made via this page is for the part time offering, which is scheduled for one day a week over two years. The structure of our programmes follows clear educational aims that are expected from the awarding bodies. Assessment will be through grading on your practical projects, through short answer question papers and online tests. The health and safety module is a multiple-choice online test in this course.
