4 GCSE’s (9-3) including English and Maths, or satisfactory results (Merit/Distinction) in a relevant Level 1 qualification. Evidence of activity engagement in sport or fitness. An interview.
This qualification will enable you to develop the knowledge and skills you require to work safely and effectively within a busy gym environment. The Level 2 Fitness Instructing programme will teach you how to screen clients, provide gym inductions, design basic training programs, and develop an understanding of how the body responds to exercise.
This course develops both practical and technical skills to enable students to progress in their chosen field.
You will need to purchase general materials such as pencils and stationery and other items may be required that you will also need to purchase, but these can be discussed during your application interview or induction to the college.
Coursework will include assignments and end of year exams/assessment as may be applicable.
Learners can progress onto a Level 3 Certificate in Personal Training. Successful completion of this course will give 20 credits towards the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs). Entry onto the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs) can lead to jobs as Gym Instructors or Aerobics teachers. Once qualified, many Level 2 qualifications offer routes into teaching different disciplines such as studio cycling, step and circuits.
