Learning at Chesterfield College provides you with time in a workshop with experts in the world of maintenance and manufacturing and the skills of machining, cutting and lathing materials as well as welding and fabrication. We have an excellent team from a diverse range of backgrounds, filled with experience across various industries ranging from manufacturing to electronics to provide advice and teach you how to write applications, CVs, cover letters as well as take you through the standard workplace skills that will aim to make you stand out, how to debate topics, appear professional, present ideas and how to write reports. Our CAD specialist will be leading you in developing your skills in Engineering Software and learning the underlying theories around engineering that will give you a leg up when progressing to Level 2. Additional information: ' Standard equipment is expected, i.e. pen, pencil, calculator, notebook and ruler ' You will receive all P.P.E from the college when you sign up to the course ' free of charge. (if the P.P.E is damaged or lost, you will be expected to pay for the cost of new P.P.E)

This course lays the foundations to a career in engineering, aiming towards a progression to a Level 2 course, specialising into either Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Fabrication & Welding to the apprenticeship stream or full-time stream. Post progression to Level 2, there is the option of progressing to a Level 3 again either apprenticeship or full-time, aiming to move into full-time employment at an engineering site or progressing into Higher Education.
