2. Who this course is for

The Access to Teaching course is a nationally recognised qualification designed for people who wish to enter the world of teaching, but who lack the formal qualifications required for direct entry into university study. You will be in college three days a week.

3. Entry requirements

This one year intensive course is designed for students aged 19 or above, no longer in full time education. You will need GCSEs (A* C/9 4) in English and maths, as these are essential for progressing into a career in teaching. You may need to complete a range of assessments at interview. All students are assessed for their English and maths skills at interview. Some universities require a pass in GCSE Science please ensure that you have checked the requirements for your chosen career path with your preferred higher education institution.
