Who this course is for
BCAs agriculture programmes are designed to meet industry needs whilst developing students knowledge base and practical skills in livestock, arable and agricultural machinery. This course will provide the opportunity for those who want to work within the agricultural industry to obtain a vocational qualification by means of full-time study. It will enable them to develop both theoretical knowledge and practical skills within the Livestock and Arable sectors.
Entry requirements
Four GCSEs at grade 3 or above including maths, English and science plus one other. At interview, we will require evidence of your interest and passion for agriculture and in developing a career working with them. We recommend attending a taster day to gain further insight into what the course will involve.
What you'll learn
Modules studied including but not limited to: Farm animal production, Crop production, Plant and animal health, Business management, Machinery and Agriculture work placement.
How you'll learn
This course is delivered through theory lessons, practical work, group seminars and internal and external professional development (industry/work placement). You will also have individual tutorials with your Course Manager on a regular basis in order to monitor and track your progress.

How you'll be assessed
Assessment takes place through the completion of examinations, synoptic assessment, written assessment, homework and successful completion of industry placement.
What you can do next
This course can lead to employment and students can also progress (subject to meeting specified entry requirements) onto other courses such as L3 Diploma.
