Professional Diploma in Creative Enterprise

Study at Level 4 gives students the opportunity to begin pursuing specific career areas within the Creative Media and Creative Arts sectors which may have only been explored holistically before. The UAL Level 4 Professional Diploma in Creative Enterprise has been designed to provide students with the skills, knowledge and understanding necessary to develop their careers as creative professionals and is suitable for students interested in careers in Performing Arts, Creative Media (Film, Media and Media Production), Writing for film and theatre and Music’.

For level 3 students only, who will not be over the age of 18 on the 1st September. Students must have achieved at least Merit / C grades in at least two relevant full Level 3* subjects to be considered for this course and must have demonstrated excellent commitment to learning and high attendance (90%) during L3 study. *Full Level 3 means two years or a double block vocational course.

During the qualification, students will study the following units: Unit 1 - The Creative Entrepreneur, Unit 2 - The Creative Practitioner, Unit 3 - The Creative Enterprise. Students must successfully complete all three units in order to achieve the qualification. The qualification offers broad but in-depth knowledge and skills and has been designed to balance practical and creative skills with theoretical studies. Work placement and/or mentoring opportunities and industry-led projects are key elements of this qualification, and will support students to gain a comprehensive understanding of employment opportunities in the sector.

Students will have the opportunity to work with external clients and organisations on real live briefs to gain valuable experience that can be used on CVs and applications to creative companies and HE institutions. Students with Level 4 qualifications are provided with the opportunity to fast track into employment or self-employment in the creative industries and have an increased chance of progression into more exclusive and competitive Higher Education providers.

Students completing the UAL Level 4 Professional Diploma in Creative Enterprise may progress into: Employment; students completing this may also start their own business or progress to roles in the creative industries. Higher Education - the qualification will support students to develop a portfolio of work enabling them to progress to higher education courses.
