Interested in the environment? This course is a great introduction to the skills and knowledge you need to form a solid base for a lifelong career. It offers something for everyone, you can be creative and learn how to design beautiful outdoor spaces. Topics covered include practical horticultural skills, plant identification & knowledge, garden maintenance and how to use specialist tools & equipment. You will learn landscaping skills including turfing, planting & mulching, lawn & hedge maintenance and using a wide range of horticultural machinery. You will complete a work placement to build up practical hands-on experience. In addition, you have the opportunity to improve your English and maths. You will need safety boots and warm clothes for working outdoors.
