The Level 3 Healthcare support staff can work in a variety of different settings withinMthe NHS and private care facilities. The role of the support staff is to provide assistance to healthcare professionals in diagnosing, treating and caring for patients., Mandatory content includes: communication in care settings, effective handling of information in care settings, personal development in care settings, person-centred approaches in care settings, equality and inclusion in care settings, health, safety and well-being in care settings, responsibilities of a care worker, duty of care in care settings, safeguarding and protection in care settings, infection prevention and control, causes and spread of infection, cleaning, decontamination and waste management, mental health problems, mental well-being and mental health promotion & study skills for senior healthcare support workers.

4 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English &, maths. A clear Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check at the start of the course. A keen interest in caring for others. A requirement of the course is a COVID vaccination.
