4. What you'll learn
Guided by our expert lecturers you will learn how to make beautiful, hand-crafted wooden furniture using a variety of tools and technologies. You will cover modules including: <ul> <li>Consolidating and applying a knowledge and understanding of health and safety within furniture making environments.<li> <li>Consolidating a knowledge and understanding of timber technology to enable sound judgements when working within the timber trade.<li> <li>Developing a knowledge and understanding of furniture construction methods to support furniture design and manufacturing processes.<li> <li>Developing the ITC skills and techniques required to produce basic geometric, pictorial and working drawings using computer programs.<li> <li>Developing the hand skills and techniques required to produce intermediate geometric, pictorial and working drawings.<li> <li>Developing a knowledge of the furniture design process and utilising (implementing) this to design basic furniture items.<li> <li>Manufacturing a range of intermediate items of furniture, using a range of hardwoods, fixtures and fittings.<li> <li>Making and attaching a range of doors, drawers and fittings.<li> <ul> Guided by our expert lecturers you will learn how to make beautiful, hand-crafted wooden furniture using a variety of tools and technologies.
