Industry-standard software and hardware in the Mac suites to develop the skills needed to work in the fast-paced, creative environment of the media. Media production/management, developing sound design/print layout; script writing; filmmaking; print production/digital photography skills and experience. Tasks will become more challenging, engaging and unlocking your creativity. Achieve knowledge and gain transferable skills including research techniques, presentations/pitches, projects and problem based scenarios and the teamwork skills. Practical workshop sessions in TV studio, media editing suites, radio and sound rooms. Classroom-based theory sessions - supported by IT and computer-based research, real-world media industry situations (including live broadcasts, video editing sessions, production company meetings) and educational visits to industry trade fairs and other media industry-related events and work experience. Opportunities to go on a number of trips and visits including to studios, television production companies - even to the United States of America. There are opportunities to see your work displayed and screened at our annual CMA award ceremony. Students who successfully complete this programme can progress to higher level study at University, work experience as an apprentice or look to find employment in the Creative Arts industries. You will be asked to pay for materials and trips at enrolment. The fee is currently £50 to cover trips and £175 for a basic kit which includes 1 TB external hard-drive, 16gb SD card, card reader, headphones, lights and other materials which will be confirmed in your enrolment pack.
