Music Technology is a rapidly expanding industry. Behind every great album, live event and film is a team of highly skilled Music Technology professionals. Studying Music Technology at Barrow Hall College provides students with the knowledge and practical skills to excel in this industry. Music and Music Technology have a high profile within the school, and the equipment and facilities are on par with industry and leading universities. The majority of the course is taught in our studio, housing state of the art professional recording software. This is a practical course which will change the way you hear music and sounds for the better.

You will need to have a minimum of 5 A* - C grades at GCSE to study this course. You should have an interest in Music and the process of creating it, and you should be computer literate. If you have studied Music GCSE or NCFE Music Technology at Key Stage 4, you will need to have achieved at least a Grade B for GCSE Music, or a pass (equivalent to a C grade) for NCFE Music Technology. The required skills will be taught as you progress through the course.
