2. Who this course is for

This course is highly practical and provides a strong grounding in Computer Systems and Networking. It will give you a comprehensive understanding of computer networking concepts, IP addressing, routing and switching, designing, managing and maintaining computer networks and you will also be introduced to Cybersecurity and Network Security. The units of study reflect the current employment opportunities within the industry and the skills in-demand by employers. This course also covers the industry recognised Cisco certification learning outcomes (CCNA 1 and CCNA 2) and as part of your studies, you will have access to the well established Cisco Academy resources (https://www.netacad.com) to prepare towards a Cisco certification.A nationally recognised computing qualification, the HNC is ideal for those who have started, or are planning to move into, a career in the computing industry or who wish to progress onto a level 5 programme such as a HND.The course also aims to develop essential and transferrable employment skills such as communication and interpersonal skills, leadership and the dynamics of working with others in teams.Applications to all Full Time Undergraduate courses must be made through UCAS.
