You will need to be over 19 years of age . You will have achieved and can provide evidence of GCSE Mathematics and English at grade C/4 or above or Functional Skills Level 2 in English and Mathematics.
You will study the following subjects along your progression route, Double Business, Law and Study Skills
Your classes will fit around school holidays, with most starting at 10 am and the course is ran by the University of Derby.
A laptop/PC is essential to complete the course. We understand that mature learners face certain barriers when returning to education. A key barrier is finance, and this is often why mature learners put off returning to education. At Buxton and Leek College however, there is means-tested financial support available for out Access Students. Means-tested support means that funding is not a guarantee, but students who fit the eligibility criteria will be able to apply.
You will be taught through lectures, tutorials, workshops and practical sessions. You will be assessed in a variety of ways, including presentations, reports, essays and case studies
