Unit 1 (Coursework Unit) - Worth 60% of final grade.  Students will begin by learning the concepts and formal elements behind graphic design.  Students will develop their analytical and visual literacy skills in being able to effectively research examples of the formal elements within current Graphical Designers work.  Students will then apply this contextual research to their own practise, constantly developing their visual language through a range of workshops, including Photoshop, printmaking, drawing & digital painting.  Students will have the opportunity to explore various areas of Graphical Design including logos and branding, packaging, concept advertisement and illustration. Unit 2 (Coursework Unit) - Worth 40% of final grade.  Students will receive an exam paper with a choice of different briefs.  Students are to select a brief and create a mini project responding to their chosen brief. The students will work towards a final piece.  This final piece will be created in a 15 hour exam, to be sat at the end of Y13 over 3 days.
