You will need to be employed or volunteering (minimum of 12 hours) as a learning support assistant within a school environment. There are no formal entry qualifications for this course, however, you will need an appropriate level of Literacy.
You will be required to complete one assignment for each unit. All units are internally assessed. You will also be assessed within the workplace, showing competence against criteria given. A variety of teaching methods will help you complete assignments. You will be encouraged to share good practice with other support staff in group discussions.
The qualification aims to enhance and increase opportunities for support staff, this allows candidates to progress to Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.
