Aviation Environment - Level 2 Diploma

The City and Guilds Level 2 Diploma in Aviation Operations has been designed for candidates who work or want to work in the aviation sector on the ground. The qualification allows candidates to learn, develop and practise the skills required for employment and/or career progression in the aviation sector, it can also lead to progression to Level 2 Introduction to Air Cabin Crew, Level 3 Diploma in Aviation operations and onto Higher Education. A range of industry based units are covered including Health and Safety within Aviation, Aviation Security, Aviation Communication, Airport check in services, Aircraft boarding and arrival services, Airport baggage processing, Loading and unloading of aircraft, Aviation passengers with specific requirements, Aircraft Dispatch, Aircraft Marshalling and Aircraft Load Instruction Report. An airside trip to Liverpool John Lennon Airport is planned (circumstances permitting) as well as guest speakers from industry.

A minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade 3(D) or above including Maths and English Language and a relevant subject OR a minimum of Level 1 course in this subject at merit or above and English and Maths at Level 1. An interest in the topic and good attitude to learning are important to enable you to achieve success on this course.

Full and part-time employment in a range of aviation roles including passenger services, ground handling, dispatch, and security operations. It can also lead to progression to Level 2 Introduction to Air Cabin Crew, Level 3 Diploma in Aviation operations
