This course builds on the knowledge and understanding of GCSE science. It is expected that students will have achieved a 5-5 or above in combined science, or two single sciences, and a 5 in English Language (we will consider high 4-4 grades accompanied by 5 in maths).
All pupils must complete the following mandatory units: ● Principles of Applied Human Biology (External assessment) ● Practical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases ● Human Biology and Health Issues (External assessment) Pupils then complete one optional unit from: ● Functional Physiology ● Diseases, Disorders, Treatments and Therapies ● Genetics and Genetic Engineering ● Biomedical Science ● Human Reproduction and Fertility
