At least 6 GCSEs at grades 9-4 , including Grade 5 in GCSE Mathematics, grade 4 in GCSE English and a grade 5 in one other predominantly written based subject such as History, Geography or Sociology. (Level 2 vocational qualifications at Merit or Distinction will be treated as equivalent to one GCSE)

In an age of global business, financial competency is of great importance. This course should appeal to students who enjoy working with numerical data, take pleasure in problem solving and have an interest in Business and Finance or Accounting. You will be able you to analyse, interpret and evaluate accounting information and apply to a range of accounting problems. Four units introduce and develop financial and management accounting. In these units you will: learn the fundamentals of record-keeping and the purposes, techniques and consequences of effective financial accounting; consider how financial accounting helps in the measuring, monitoring and planning of successful business operations; study business ownership, control, profitability, performance and budgeting.
