Marine Engineering Diploma

If you�re fascinated by the more technical components that are in boats � the engines, the pumps, the propulsion systems � then this is the course for you.By focusing on marine engineering, you�ll develop the practical skills and experience that will prepare you for a lifelong career in the dynamic marine industry. You�ll develop essential skills in communicating highly technical information, maintaining mechanical devices, and testing electrical equipment and circuits. You�ll be assessed by completing a range of practical tasks, and producing a portfolio of evidence.Practical sessions are delivered in our fully equipped workshop, whilst the essential underpinning theory and knowledge is delivered in our specialist classroom facilities. You�ll be studying at South Devon Marine Academy which means you'll be based in a working boatyard and see first-hand what working as a marine engineer is like.

You will be required to have achieved Maths at Level 2, You will be required to have achieved English at Level 2, You will need to have achieved a minimum of 3 GCSEs at grade 4(C) or above, You should have a genuine interest in this subject
