4 GCSEs (grades A*-E/9-3), including English and Maths, or satisfactory results in a relevant Level 1 qualification, and an interview.
The course programme covers a wide range of traditional and modern skills relating to furniture manufacture including using hand, power tools and basic machines, joints, furnishing and veneering.
Practical workshop sessions are combined with class tuition and computer-aided learning to help build a portfolio of evidence.
You will need to purchase general materials such as pencils and stationery. Other items will be required that you will also need to purchase, and these kit costs are discussed during your application interview or induction to the college.
There are end of unit written assignments for each unit and practical work is designed to meet the practical requirements for these units.
