Economics is the study of the production, consumption and transfer of wealth. The A Level course explores microeconomic and macroeconomic topics through the idea of a market and its structures (monoploy, oligopoly and perfect competition). The course also covers concepts such as demand and supply, elasticity and market failure.

To take 3 A Levels at Allerton Grange you are required to have a minimum of 5 GCSE subjects at grade 4 and above. Economic specific entry requirements are English Language grade 5 or above and Maths grade 5 or above.

Modules are taught on economic growth, inflation, exchange rates and fiscal policy. Policies will be evaluated using theories and personal conclusions need to be drawn.
