Paediatric First Aid for Practitioners

This 12 hour Paediatric First aid course is for practitioners working with children. This comprehensive course is designed to give the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to deal effectively with paediatric emergencies, including common medical conditions. It is suitable for nursery and primary school practitioners, child-minders, nannies, pre and after school club staff and sport coaches. The course meets the requirements of Ofsted and EYFS.

This course is suitable for those working with children such as childminders, nannies, nursery workers, pre and after school club staff, and sports coaches. No previous experience is required but this course does require a minimum of Level 1 English (or equivalent). In order to gain the certificate you must be suitable able to turn someone into recovery position & demonstrate effective CPR.

By the end of the course you will be able to demonstrate effective resuscitation on a baby/child manikin, demonstrate how to assess and manage an unconscious breathing baby/child, demonstrate how to deal with choking using baby/child manikin, demonstrate how to control severe bleeding.

This engaging course will take place in a relaxed, friendly environment. Various teaching methods will be used supported by practical sessions.

Pen and paper, mask and gloves. Suitable clothing should be worn for practical work e.g. recovery position

Continual assessment of practical skills plus a final multiple choice question paper.
