You must be interested in a career in rail engineering, be motivated and eager to learn. You must be aged 19 and above, and be able to attend college 5 days a week (Monday-Friday) for 8 weeks. You must also meet the eligibility for residency: Be able to provide a British or Irish Passport with three years' residency in the EU/EEA, or Have a European Union Settlement Scheme residence (EUSS) with three years' residency in the EU/EEA and UK and have lived in the UK prior to 31 December 2
This course includes the following knowledge and skills areas: Personal track safety DC conductor rails Track induction Rail track practical experience Health and safety First aid Rail plant and tool training
Assessment will be based on the activities you do on the track itself, and exams for first aid, personal track safety, and track induction.
This course is a fast-track route into employment, and if you complete the course successfully, you will be offered employment in the rail sector.
