Grade 5/5 in GCSE Science Double Award or Biology/Chemistry/Physics plus a Grade 5 in English Language & Grade 4 in GCSE Maths.
Year 1: Human health and disease, physiological measurement techniques, Medical Science research method. Year 2: Medicines and treatment of disease, Clinical laboratory technique,Medical case study.
The qualification covers the key topics of health, physiology and disease as well as physiological measurement and medical research. Medical scientists are at the forefront of healthcare - vital in the diagnosis of disease, effectiveness of treatments and searching for new cures.

Assessment is part internal assessment and part external assessed exams. (Across the two years, 50% internal and 50% external assessment).
Applied Science programmes, such as biomedical science, life sciences, and physiology. This course is also a viable route for vocational health courses such as: nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and more. Please note this course is not suitable if you want to study for a degree in Medicine. You must study Biology and Chemistry A level to do this.
