Retail Skills - Level 2 Diploma

The qualification has been designed for students who have an interest in retail and who want to increase their skills and take on more responsibility at work via a full-time immersive learning experience. Students will learn, develop, and practise the skills required for employment and/or gain career progression within the retail sector. Units in the qualification cover all areas of working in retail including aspects of sales, customer support, stock control and processing fresh goods. The level 2 Diploma in Retail Skills is made up of the following units and students must successfully complete them all by developing evidence within a portfolio of work. - Work effectively in a retail team.- Maintain food safety while working with food in a retail environment.- Keep stock at required levels in a retail environment.- Assemble products for display in a retail environment.- Carry out promotional campaigns in a retail environment.- Process payments for purchases in a retail environment.- Promote food and drink products by offering samples to customers.- Give customers a positive impression of yourself and your organisation.- Provide a counter & takeaway service.- Deal with customer queries and complaints in a retail environment.

Minimum entry requirements are 3 GCSEs at grades 2 or above which must include English. It would be desirable to have a basic skill level of using computers and word processing as great resources will be available for you to develop and enhance your skills.

This programme provides students with the skills, knowledge and understanding necessary to progress to further studies or to employment opportunities within retail industries.
