It is the ideal opportunity to explore ideas and develop skills and it is a great first step for those who wish to follow a course of this nature at University. Three-dimensional design will enable you to select appropriate materials and learn how they fit together, develop an understanding of scale and experiment with texture and surface finish. At UTC Reading, you will have the opportunity to showcase your creativity through practical, critical and contextual work comprising of a final portfolio of skills. You will use a variety of traditional and new media to demonstrate a range of processes and techniques suitable for three-dimensional design in disciplines such as architectural design. A C grade or above in an Art and/or Design based subject at GCSE is advised.
